Recently, I find the news depressing and I wonder if we are losing our freedoms and I begin to worry. After listening to one of the candidates for the presidency of our great country speak about his values and his faith, hope has been renewed. If we all pray diligently and work together in love, our liberties can be saved. Faith replaces fear and I rejoice!
Lover of My Soul.
"If you are seeking after God, you may be sure of this:
God is seeking you much more. He is the Lover and
You are His beloved. He has promised Himself to you."
John of the Cross
"You are in the Beloved... therefore infinitely
dear to the Father, unspeakably precious to Him.
You are never, not for one second, alone."
Some glad morning when my life in heaven has just begun.
I'll join the heavenly chorus and sing like I've never ever sung.
I'll look into my Savior's face and see the love in His eyes.
Yes, I’ll rejoice in Him and know peaceful rest there in Paradise.
On earth He’s good and gives His children so much.
I pray I won’t fail Him for I live for His touch.
Jesus is my hope for today and tomorrow.
Even in death we shall have hope with the sorrow.
But today He is calling me to get ready to fight
For a battle between light and dark is just out of sight.
I hear the low rumble of war coming near.
He says He's prepared us and we are not to have fear.
Now He is speaking not only to you and to me.
But all of the people must be warned; may they see.
"I'll make your hands to be strong and your feet to be sure.
You'll be able to fight through the night; you'll endure.”
His Kingdom on earth is coming; indeed is already here.
He gives us sight to see heavenly things when they appear.
I’ll not fear the enemy, but instead I’ll rejoice.
I’m on the victory side for I made the right choice.
He says, "You won't fail Me, so just keep on givin' and livin'...
Until you enter the place I'm preparin', it's called heaven."
Some folks can’t believe in what they don’t see.
But through faith comes salvation and the way to be free.
Paradise comes through believing in Jesus, God’s son.
It will be our new home when the victory here has been won.
As we keep His commands, we live deeply and surely in Him and He lives in us. And this is how we experience His deep and abiding presence in us: by the Spirit He gave us. (I John 3:24 MSG)
A bit of news:
Our assignment to take light to the nations through education is still very real and alive in our hearts. The 14th verse of Psalm 48 says, "that you may tell it to the generation following. For this is God, our God forever and ever. He will be our guide even to death." Celebrate with us our 20-year anniversary! It was on February 17th 1992, we landed in beautiful Georgia and on March 15th we had the first day of The School of Tomorrow Georgia. "I will make Your name to be remembered to all generations. Therefore the people will praise You forever and ever.'' (Ps.45:17)
We receive communication regularly from the school staff in Georgia. They are having a very good year from all reports. They had some special programs at Christmas time which everyone seemed to enjoy. Two of our high school students will be attending the ACE International Convention in May. This is an experience that will change their lives. Our students are having contests in many areas, such as music, speech, Scripture memory, crafts, sewing, poetry, etc. The two that have the most first places will be eligible to represent our school. We plan to be in Georgia at that time. A faithful servant and our long-time friend, a principle of a Christian school in Kansas, has graciously offered to sponsor our two students along with his own students. He will watch out for them at the convention and even on some tours of the beautiful USA.
We were able to send a new laminator to our school this winter. You may remember, we laminated hundreds of our school work-books, called PACES, years ago. That project saved us well over a million dollars. We need to laminate new ones now. We have hired three Georgian women to laminate them right at the school.
A heads-up: This summer, our wonderful Mark IV Harvest board is planning a benefit concert featuring the talented Phil Keaggy. We had hoped to have a Ginny Owens concert in February, but we just didn't have the time to make it happen. We are grateful and excited to have this popular sought-after group come to Fort Collins to help us build a much-needed gymnasium for our school. The ministry of education in Georgia is requiring all schools, public and private, to provide this by the fall of 2013. We hope to regain some of the cost by renting it out.
An Invitation: "Are you tired? Worn out? Burned out on religion? Come to me. Get away with me and you'll recover your life. I'll show you how to take a real rest. Walk with me and work with me - watch how I do it. Learn the unforced rhythms of grace. I won't lay anything heavy or ill-fitting on you. Keep company with me and you'll learn to live freely and lightly," (Matt. 11:28 MSG)
My word for today is "spontaneity". Means willing, simple, unsophisticated, authentic. Antonyms: cultured, refined, worldly. Isn't that a life-filled word?
Are we being greedy when we say, "More, Lord Jesus, I want more?" Meditating on these things I wrote:
Glory to Your Holy name
You are forever and always the same.
All the angels in heaven
Worship our Lord twenty-four/seven.
Spontaneously living in joy.
Singing a new song for all to enjoy.
His love for every person on earth.
Needing to know of their great worth.
Filling me up with more of Your Spirit
That I will have love enough and to live it.
All of the hurts and the pain I lay down
For where there is Jesus I know peace will abound
More of You, Jesus, I want to know
More of Your love and goodness show.
Anoint me with more love than I can contain.
I'll splash over to all, the healthy and the lame.
